When Shadows Lengthen Poem by james watkin

When Shadows Lengthen

Are seen now to stretch out
Behind us. As to stamp
For proof, the day throughout
And upon a world made
Effects, if as short-lived
Imprints, if no deeper
Yours, mine. Tree's own, joint derived
Physically, through its shade.
