When Scat Splats Poem by Jim McGill

When Scat Splats

When scat splats your life
Loose your job and your wife
She gets kids, house and dog
Ignore all games and stay the grog
Don't dribble in a self pity monologue

Instead, find words for the truth you feel
Write it down, then all becomes real
Inscribe for others that wicked bane
A force which drives you almost insane
This will ease the strain and cure the pain

In other words, compost the sh*t you get
Then plant petunias and potatoes in it
Do not be a victim of sorrow purblind
For true strength lies within the mind
Where words and truth get combined

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Forgive me. In one possibly offensive word have replaced the ‘i' with an ‘*' to avoid having the poem deactivated. I encourage the reader to replace the ‘*' with an ‘i' if he or she feels a need to add more meaning to the poem.
