When Memories Devour Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

When Memories Devour

Rating: 5.0

When memories devour,
my restless mind in the midnight hour.
I still see your face,
no longer here in my quiet place.
For although you're no longer here,
I still hear your laugh,
your guiding words.
You will never be gone.
Your memory will soothe me,
like the words of a song.
Safe in my thoughts,
my heart holds the key.
Remembering those days,
Just you and me.

I can relate to this poem, often at the end of a long day I think about my parents who passed away when I young. I still love and miss them.
