It's raining cats and dogs outside
And I'm feeling like a soggy fry
But then I had a brilliant thought
That might just make my day a lot less fraught
I put on my raincoat and galoshes pink,
And go out dancing.. so wild you'd think
That I'm auditioning for the next big show
With moves so wacky they might steal the show.
I slide and slip and make a silly face
As the rain splashes in every place
I'm feeling so alive and free,
Like a feline dancing and singing with glee
The neighbors poke their heads out the door,
And see me dancing like never before.
They laugh and cheer and join in the fun,
And dance like there's no tomorrow to shun.
And then.. before we knew it,
The sun came out and we had to admit
That the rain had brought us joy and cheer
And a memory we'd always hold dear.
So when the rain pours next time around,
Don't let it bring your spirit down.
Put on your dancing shoes and your favorite top,
And go out there and dance, skip and hop! !
