When It Rains Poem by Anita Khelawan

When It Rains

It's never one of those rainy days
Yet somehow, you replenish me
You nurture me
You sustain me
To you, it may sound strange
But I still find myself wishing for rain
Because our love moves like rainfall
Slow at first, then all at once
Like the rain, I've fallen for you

Sometimes, I let my tears hide in the rain
Because the storm knows how to cradle my pain
Tell me… can you stand the rain?
Or feel the raindrops drifting across your windowpane
The way I wish to follow you?

Can I be your morning rain
Soft at first, then warming everything it touches?
Let me feel you rain on me
Outside, it's pouring cats and dogs
Inside, let your rough become my comfort
Let my body quiver like a satisfied purr

Rain down on me
Bless me with your sweetness…
I yearn for you like cracked ground aches for rain
Reign with me
Every
Single
Day
