When It Rained Poem by Laquory Jones

When It Rained

Verse 1
Today when it rained
I could feel it in my veins
All of your pain that you
Keep deep inside
See I won't lie those certain
Vibes hits me every-time
There's not a day in life that
You don't run through my
Mind to the point that water
Hits my eyes it hurts when
You're not by my side
Richie keep going no doubt
I've tried but it gets harder
Each time trying to survive
I'm just trying to keep what
We have or had alive
It's this drive that lives
From deep inside
That eats me up at night
Especially when it rains

Chorus
Droplets forms within the rain
Still we look for brighter days
It's just in our nature
Because there's no other way

Verse 2
Today when it rained
I couldn't help from going insane
Her words on replay in my brain
Richie let the cards fall
Where they may
That's all she had to say
Come on babe let me know
That things will always be okay
But these thoughts are all
I have to convey so these
Words can formulate
It's getting harder to
Concentrate as I try to navigate
Upon this weary road on my own all alone
No answer when I call on the phone
So what am I to do
When I can't live without you
It's true just been feeling a little blue
This terrain I'm on is quite new

Chorus
Droplets forms within the rain
Still we look for brighter days
It's just in our nature
Because there's no other way

Verse 3
Today when it rained
I tossed and turned
So many lessons that we have to learn
Like when bridges become burnt
How do we grow and repair
Show strength and persevere
Do I still have your ears
Become my eyes so I can see clearer
Tell me if you can hear and understand
Where I'm at in life so many lessons
That we struggle in strife
It's painful when they cut like knives
Is that what its meant when they say
Scars will always heal in due time
Becoming mementos as we age throughout
Our lives I have so many scars
Do they really make up who you are or
Show the rugged life of an old man
The rugged soul of an old heart
Trials and tribulations of them old farts
Yeah Richie but they at least have heart

Chorus
Droplets forms within the rain
Still we look for brighter days
It's just in our nature
Because there's no other way

Verse 4
Today when it rained
I saw this man at Kay Jewelers
He was sweating because
It was his first time there
He says ' I'm about to marry the
Girl of my dreams' But I can't quite
Figure out the ring' Just then he
Turns to me then begins to speak
'What would you suggest'?
I tell him go with your heart
That's always a great place to start
He gets nervous I tell him to take a deep
Breath he cools down then the clerk
Smiles asking him ' what color is her
eyes? Harlequin green She's my
Harley Quinn and I her Batman
The clerk chuckles with a half grin
Then shows him a Harlequin ring
With its hint of lime green
He buys it then leaves the scene
When it rained...

Chorus
Droplets forms within the rain
Still we look for brighter days
It's just in our nature
Because there's no other way

Verse 5
Older Generations always would say
'Son, you better live life to the fullest'
If you aren't then what are you doing? '
We young souls would always laugh
Thinking that we had all the time in
The world at least five friends would
Then concur not knowing life's
All but a blur not yet realizing yet
What had occurred
Richie Do you remember Big guy Earl?
He would always eat those cinnamon
Swirls He passed on last Nov 1
Not sure what became of his daughter
Pearl Life goes by so fast
I remember how he would always try
To make us laugh always steering us onto
The right path so young and vibrant
The truly great ones always leaves too fast
