When It All Seems Futile Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

When It All Seems Futile

When your social hamstring is giving in
When all that you hear is pointing to the "New World Order"
Some saying." No ways, that can't be, it's all sci-fi"
But you asking "what about all this fear mongering and autocracy"
Well, the fear mongers retorting, "conspiracy, conspiracy"
But they go on to herd lead with a narrative of fear and death.

Retreat into the recesses of your cultural memories
Stay in there and play with your own imaginations
For those tales of the hare and baboon were educative
Keep your nose down, now that you know
That universities are but one poisoned chalice
Be sane, and risk being belittl'd for the gain cannot be fiddled with.
