When In China (Zhoushan) Poem by Sophie Allyah

When In China (Zhoushan)

Rating: 5.0

I rambled alone the first time ashore,
On a small island called Zhoushan

We stayed there for nearly a month,
Spent my time wondering inside my mind

I tramped with a friend the 2nd time ashore,
On a small island called Zhoushan

We tasted their foods and drank their beers,
Like in Japan we drink, but with no cheers

People there are friendly and down to earth,
Minding only their business as we roam

It is great to have new friends
Further from where I had been

I smile a lot when we depart
Leaving this small island called Zhoushan

So, from China here back to Japan,
Goodbye to small island called Zhousan!
