A very lovely poem. I have cat as well. He is the first to wake. Well done. Bien!
Allison, i couldn't decide if this sounded like a poem or a nice non-poetic story of love for your bird. i have decided that it DOES qualify as a poem, and, even if it did not, i would (and shall) add it to MyPoemList. so THERE! hopefully you will (if you wish to) find a human partner some day who you will love at least almost as much, and who WON'T MAKE A MESS or DANGLE FROM YOUR HAIR. but probably will sleep in late some days. thanks for sharing. :) Y.M.
You really have a cute way of expressing your feelings Goldheart B. One thing, you might want to change 'furry; ' friend to 'feathery' friend. I'm pretty sure birds don't have fur. I enjoyed that poem very much!
A nice poem that shows the poet's deep love for her pet. Loved the love expressed through the lines of this poem.
