The history of the tours and travels, voyages and journeys of mariners, ship men, seamen, navigators, captains and their crew, how to relate to and allude to the their adventures? History is not of the kings and queens, but of discoverers. What is history? How to read into the palaces?

When I speak of history I speak well; I leave behind the past where broken bones Lay scattered on blistering sands to tell Of atrocities that are mostly groans. While you may feel the pain lurking inside- - - - A wonderful poem about history. We learn from history.History gives Revelations of the past, the story of success or defeat, joy or pains buried in the sands of time.Congratulations for being selected as Poem of the Day.

We can learn so much from history, and yet, we're repeating the same mistakes over and over again. When will we ever learn? A succinct and brilliant write. Quite an achievement given the subject matter. Truly worthy of Poem Of The Day! Congratulations, Leonard! I invite you to read my poem, Killing Mine Enemy With Kindness.

Yes in reading history we want to know the glorious past, the inventions and new exciting discoveries not the dark history of mankind.

Great poem Leonard. Such a different type. Historical poems are rare. Yet this one equally as impressive. Congrats on this one being chosen as POD!

A poem on history, of voyages and discoveries. History is so important and as the poet has rightly pointed out, it is revelation. Kudos dear poet for this meaningful poem.

Leonard, your poem is well-written with a strong message...and I love that you used the word chicanery....that's a great word! Your closing couplet tells it all. I think History is important and we need to know it, but we also need to know how to rise above it if we are ever to progress and increase our chances of becoming better than the past. Congrats.
