When I am dead, please don't sing sad song for me.. this is the beauty of poetic expression of the great poetess.
A deeply moving poem so beautifully crafted and expressed.

I watched the Soap Opera " Dark Shadows" back in the 60's in 1969 they did a soundtrack Album " Dark Shadows" with when I am Dead recited by Jonathan Frid a.k.a. Barnabas Collins really moving

I have a vision to write like this, only if god would bless me enough to.m
The poet cares for those she left Telling them to move on with life But we who are left here do not forget..we always remember happy memories We may not see them anymore.. but what they did and what they made us feel will always be remembered.

This is one of my favorite poems from Ms. Rossetti and since high school days, have memorized it and learned it by heart. Eloquence of emotions in prefect rhyme and rhythm.
Again, great rhythm. This poem makes me feel like crying- it's a sad poem, yet so full of hope... one of my favourites of Christina's.
Power, beauty and dignity... perfectly aligned and amalgamated in this great poem.
