When Grace Germinates Poem by Gary James Smith

When Grace Germinates

Rating: 5.0

When Grace Germinates

When grace germinates in the heart
What gift that God bestows
He implants that seed of faith
And watches as it grows
Forgiveness from the root of love
Extends its leaves to all
And fragrance from that wondrous flower
Soft as pedals fall

And spread out love brings colouring
To what was a humbdrub scene
And love begins its bestowing power
That never before was seen
And a spiritual mantel worn by each believer
Goes about seeking to do God's will
With a generosity of spirit
From Him who loveth us still

Praise God for His wonderful love
Towards us who in spite of our sin
Has a longsuffering nature
That seeks to woe us to Him
And uses us as His earth vessels
To bring that good news of the Son
To say to the lost... Repent and believe
Be saved by the Crucified One!
