When God Was Just A Little Boy Poem by Troy Cochran

When God Was Just A Little Boy

Rating: 3.8

It must have taken quite a few eternities
for God to be a man.

How his Mother must have chased him
through his infancies!

I imagine his first words were:
"Don't you dare! "

And then through ages of adolescence... O!
let's not go there!

No doubt, his first love
was his own reflection,

till she ditched him for another mirror, richer,
with Italian hair.

Now his mind is scattered everywhere.
And his Creation:

A vast, tempestuous affair!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Moral of the story:Fundamental tensions are at the root of consciousness, which gives to light (its first expression)the tensile strength necessary to form the underlying webs of life that sustain us all in connectivity; and, like our Father, self-reflecting.

But that's a ponderous volume of metaphysics to try to grok in one lifetime; one better expressed in light verse. It doesn't really make it more digestible, but it's easier to chew.

Enjoyed your poem very much.A difficult subject handled well. In our religion besides many other forms God is imagined being born as baby also. it is specially famous as baby Krishna. Volumes and volumes of poetry has been written on it. love poems of Radha Krishna and their adolescence love are widely sung in music and depicted in Dance. Thanks for sharing.
