When Death resolutely comes
At any time with his deadly summons
Tarry not like a galley slave

A positive way to face death beautifully rendered. I think things become easier once we treat death as a friend.
So when it is time to go Strut like an indomitable foe, With swinging hands and head held high To be welcomed by angels of the sky An impressive message.
Uplifting words, Death is biggest truth, each and every living must face it, And if one faces death boldly hoping for the best it becomes easy to face it.
death is a welcome friend.. thanks for this wonderful write

This poem is written with such uplifting words and powerful thoughts. One must not be afraid of death for it is where we pass unto life and into a new beginning. It is how we live on earth and coexist with other humans that will determine our fate. Death is a summons that we will all be handed. I would rather be a courteous warrior/smile. Well done and aptly stated.
It is a fantasy, i think. And so, i hope that life should not be a fantasy to treat... We should care the living ones before death comes, mine or yours. Best wishes: -)
A lovely imagery for a new house to stay after death, where there is no misery only love peace and emancipation.... loved it
The transition and shifting from this small world to that of Eternity becomes an easy passage for those who stay connected to God and have been waiting for the time to come, and this waiting is defined and described as a period of life in which we work for the good and against the evil...if we believe that He watches us, guides us, listens to us and we are about to return to Him then as you have said: Tarry not like a galley slave But like a courteous warrior behave Do not waver and do not droop As if you are to be hung on a loop.... A poem to be framed that one might turn to it as a constant reminder and guidance... regards!
Your poem comes to me as a light of inspiration. 'Tarry not like a galley slave But like a courteous warrior behave' - True, but for this you need preparations, spanning lifetime, perhaps. 'Never dread lying under the dust With movement stilled and voice hushed' - The dread will disappear only when you have achieved your destined Mission and served the purpose of life well. 'Where Truth and Beauty preside Where peace and bliss abide .................................................. Ousted out of terrestrial space You are enfolded into God’s sweet embrace' - Very inspiring, but before that we ought to earn God's Blessings by being fair and just in our conduct, kind and compassionate in our dealings with fellow human beings and birds and animals and upholding and safeguarding others' right of living amicably and peacefully. Very inspirational poem,10/10. I guess, you might have missed reading my poem 'My Friend', written on a somewhat similar note.
Oh! God how much credence I grasp from you! ! Benevolence - Amour-Inspiration! Time and tide hasten so zippy- my devotion should be ended very soon - a great poem...........10/10
I simply loved this poem, especially the spirit of going away in style, with head held high!
A gem of a poem. I too hope death is not the end of everything but only a renewed beginning.10/10 for sure ma'am.
The science behind this thought is a tint of fear, though. Even the most valorous on this mighty, blessed planet would sure throb all over when the first rustle of the leveler waves over. The blessed poet's view is justified to the core for those who are rather timid. It serves the purpose of instilling confidence of an enduring reality. Wonderful. God Bless.
People retire when the time is reached. Death is no different. Live the life right to face death with ease. Nice poem.
Again a great piece on death.......Valsa.......and as if death vanquished by this lovely piece....superb write
