When Built For The Terrain Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

When Built For The Terrain

When the nights are dark n' long
The jungle footpaths, twisting n' lonely
Do not matter when you're built for the terrain

Cold n' deserted train stations
The unevenness of the cold floors
Will not rob you of sound sleep

Pot holes in the way
Do not be deterred from reaching your destination
Just stay calm n' watch the road ahead

You might soak in the self-pity rain
And at times even miss the success train
Nevertheless, always know that you're for the tough terrain
