When All Of Life Is Said And Done Poem by Reginald Reid

When All Of Life Is Said And Done

WHEN ALL OF LIFE IS SAID AND DONE

When all of life is said and done
Defeats are lost and victories won
There will remain the memories
And tales of how things used to be

We'll treasure still the times of love
Fond embraces sent from above
The ways you never were demanding
Your thoughtful understanding

How favoured can we live a life
Relieved of mounting toil and strife
Simply to take our pleasant ease
And walk the path amongst the trees

Hand in hand and souls entwined
We've faced the world with single mind
To brave the winds of doubt and care
Confident in knowing we each are there

During those times that seemed uncertain
We could always close the doubtful curtain
So minds on positive thoughts could focus
And see us through life's mysterious circus
