In their castles, they are the lord;

I'm not sure only jilted men cry. Sometimes we have to leave the one we love. Is that not reason for tears? Sometimes Weltsmertz gets us down with feelings of helplessness, rage against God? (what it feels like) and that can bring tears. See Boy At The Window by Richard Wilbur if you want to understand Weltsmertz. A great poem Laura, but it speaks even more to me of your heart than it does of your understanding of men, for which I as a man of course thank you.
A great poem Lora. Very insightful. Seems you've got us men well and truly sussed - in the right way of course.
Tender endearing poem! Indeed when a man cries it is more moving. Its strange that only jilted men cry, for otherwise men r too hardened to cry. But just u threaten to leave n they show u tears. Made me rethink sth personaly, mayb we shudnt ignore their scarce tears. Wondrous rhymin lori. Fond regards.

never ignore the tears of a man... beautiful poem, Lora, for he should be given a chance for his aching heart!
A great poem, Lora. Your husband was a lucky man to have such an understanding wife. A man crying is not a sign of weakness, more a sign of utter despair. Men tend to hide their emotions more and if they break down then something is drastically wrong, as you point out in this poem it is at this time that a little understanding and support works wonders. None of us is an island, Lora, we all need somebody.
