What's Going On? Poem by Mark Heathcote

What's Going On?

God comes howling, children, what's going on?
I haven't rested since I hung the golden sun.

God comes howling; children, what's going on?
I haven't, peace since the stars candelabrum.

God comes howling; children, what's going on?
I haven't slept since I hung the silver moon.

God comes howling, shouting, children, what's going on?
I haven't closed my eyes since the flowers festoon.

The children called back Father, Father-
we're-weary-too; we'll all sleep and rest soon.
