What You Want Poem by soren Barrett

What You Want

Dreams of gold stuck in our throat, on ethereal images we gloat
Power, wealth, courage sublime, a paradise in another time
Glued in our chair or lying in bed, we inventory the lies created in our head
A coat of paint over reality, a painted room of what could be

Give yourself a kick in the ass, pick up those dreamed of balls of brass
Pour that foundation of imagination, turn vision's smoke into creation
Build walls of wealth, a roof of power, floors of courage a paradise in flower
The ground is cleared, the plan in place, contractor of desire will set the pace

With limited funds it starts with a nail, with a single blow you can not fail
All it takes is sweat, to build a mansion you have to get wet
