What Went Wrong? ... Poem by Cosmic Dreamer

As I wander through this life,
searching for something meaningful.
Only to see it slip from my grasp,
And vanish down lifes waterfall...

And I fall deeper into the abyss,
All of my secrets fade to nothing.
This well of passion remains untapped,
All of my hopes concealled in darkness...

Wildly I lash out at this dark night,
Fighting the demons that live within.
For I have raged war upon my own soul,
In effort to silence the cries of desperation...

I live within a world of unfulfilled dreams,
Spurning love for fear of failure.
I have turned my back upon passion,
Preferring the darkness of my solitude...

There's no one here to cheer for me,
Or to smile when I am brilliant.
The life I yearned for has not happened,
So here I sit wondering... What went wrong? ...
