Your poetry is too deep, Lemon! I think I spend the maximum time on analysing your poems, but get stuck in between....! You fling thoughts and pose challenges for the brain....! A get together or a meeting of friends help us know each other. But how much of a person do we see externally?
Valsa, thank you so very much for both your comments. Yes, this poem is actually based on some real events. They didn't happen to me, but to a neighbour. After learning some of the issues he faced, my first thought was, " how little I do really know you." And by then we'd been talking for years.
no books judged by their covers holding up recent editions of the out-of-print.. ... ... great theme. Beautiful poem shared. Thanks for sharing.
I choose your kindness and what made u as you. We cant see by xray or naked eyes but through your gesture and how you talk to us. We found this precious thing in you.
To mine the granite of internal self-worth! ! ! Absolutely love it! ! ! The outstanding poets have pretty much covered all that I really wanted to say, so I won't be redundant. I would take the cast of your leg. Because it would inspire me to walk a mile in your shoes! And maybe, some of that inspiration would rub off a little on me. Also, I've experimented with psychometry. With Amazing results! So the cast could conceivably give me a greater insight to your creative genius! !
Thank you so much, Richard. Psychometry...that must be fascinating. Is it effective perhaps because as humans, and for reasons I don't understand, we actually seem to want to meld with objects. In a way, the cast becomes a part of a person, if temporarily. But there are rings, and piercings. They have meaning. Do they draw personality from the flesh, the person, the being? . You made me think....
oh, you have as topics: insight and metaphor AND wisdom. i don't use the 2nd one (or i don't know when i do) and i have none of #s 1 or 3. what does THAT say about ME! ? ? is there a group i can join? interesting. bri ;)
Or, do metaphors group? Bri, you do have a way of prompting philosophical thought! Thanks for reading!
Traveling through this poem gave me a whiplash every few moments, with every grab-me-by-the-brain-cell line, every challenging phrase that leaped in front of my eyes slamming me to a tire smoking stop. Dang, you're hard on a reader with all those creative, original, philosophical phrases of yours- - - - - - - - - -]
Interesting concept to experience the group get together on exploring self worth. I guess all sorts of surprises will emerge from the mix. I'm more attracted to what's behind the package so I will choose the xray.
Thanks, Simone. I am surprised how many people are firmly either or about making a choice. I even got an email explaining why there was no way that person would consider one of the options. I learn a lot about people...
Thanks, Edward. How and why is it we try to forge those hooks into lasting bonds? Thanks again.
As a book cannot be judged by its cover, a man cannot be understood from the exterior! To the question you have asked at the end, I must say I would choose the x-ray to penetrate the exterior and know more of the inside that remains outside the flesh! Indeed, a wonderful write!
