What Should I Do With You? Poem by Reina Puja

When we first met you mentored me and made me feel safe.
You helped me when i was on the verge of giving up.
You told me to tell you whenever i needed your help and you would be there.
You didn't tell me to call you whenever i needed someone to talk to but you always picked up.
You were annoying but sweet and i always kept wondering...
What should i do with you?

Soon enough we lost what we had.
Be it pride or ego or realisation
I pretended not see how you were acting but it was pretty obvious.
You didn't say i shouldn't text you again but you left my messages on delivered.
I closed my eyes, pretending not to see and pretended not to also change.
But you made it difficult so i opened my eyes and turned my back on you as i wondered.....
What should i do with you?

You came around again and blamed me.
I smiled and apologized and you made your promises again.
I believed you again and i warmed up to you but i was left hanging.
I closed my eyes again but i opened them soon after.
I then walked away with the thought......
