What's on my mind you ask? ? ? ?
Do you really want to know?
Huh, punk, do you?
Oh, ooooops, slipped into my Clint Eastwood persona there,

editing is indeed a writer's horror- -killing and butchering the output of the mind!
Murder She Wrote! ! ! Death! Wickedness, Mankind on earth! ! ! Why? ! Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
This was definitely a poem about the frustration involved in writing! Thank you for commenting.
Love your style Susan! Valsa talks about a book! some time even a poem makes you scream! But give it a little time and it will give you eventually what you want! If you have a book out congratulations! I am way behind in my contacts with my PH friends. But glad to visit your page today and know that you are doing well. Happy Halloween!
Thank you so much for these kind words - I; m behind time too. Almost a month
I can understand the tension and agony you experience prior to the publication of a book! All creative artists pass through such 'labour pain'! There is so much of rewriting, editing and curtailing to be done....! Thinking of the pain involved, one can only scream as a mother in labour screams. But once the baby is out, you'll really marvel over it! A half hilarious and half serious write! A sure 10
Thank you, Valsa. I knew I could depend on you to understand! ! ! ! You always
do! ! ! Thank you for the 10 as well. I need encouragement at this time! ! !
It's murder, Susan- murder! This is a terrific poem. I get a perfect combination and balance of the comic and horrific. I also recall that so many writers refer to their verses or essays or books as 'babies....my babies. So well done, and a perfect 10.
Hey, Mj! ! ! ! Love hearing from you- you seem so often on the same wavelength... scary. isn't it? ? ? ! ! ! Thank you for the 10 as well
Ha! ! this is true on many levels, our words are just masks we hide of ourselves, when we say we are good and fine its to create the discreet social courtesy's that are installed in us, the smile hides the screaming of our hidden fears. Thank you Susan!
Thank you for taking me more seriously than I deserve! ! ! ! You delve deep, my friend! ! !
hey, susan! checking out what's new with you. one of my favorite crime fiction writers in james lee burke. i read at his website that one of his books was rejected 111 times, then published and nominated for a pulitzer. go figure, eh? hoping this finds you well and beyond your frustration, glen
I love james lee burkes' writing style! ! ! ! He has huge writing skills
I wonder if it was his first book- -but even so, that man could never write something undeserving of being published! !

Thank you, Poet Poet, for reading my poem- -it was a long journey indeed
Beautiful presentation filled with frustration. Writing for hours to create one masterpiece and when asked to amputate it one could feel the pain. A unique write. Loved it from your pen Susan.
Hate to do the copy and paste thing but PH isn't letting me posty- I think all of us have a huge problem erasing a well'written sentence! ! ! We are proud of our little darlings- they are so clever, original, exactly right! ! ! ! We can only hope they come back and haunt the editors responsible for their demise! ! ! ! ! ! Thank you for the sympathy! ! !
Total empathy...I cannot imagine anything worse having to modify/curtail/ruin a creative masterpeice...especially hours and days of the whole nine yards of hard work. I feel your frustration: (

The way of presentation of this poem is unique and fantastic. I mark the following lines much impressive. Because Book One in my series is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. Must trim. Delete. Amputate. Kill my precious lovely sentences. Oh, the horror.... Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem.10
I had to get my frustration out! ! ! Thank you for the 10! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Hi Susie, Editing a literary work, on the premise that “it is way too long” is definitely “murder”, amputation. Almost an impossible task. Because, the flow of ideas happens in the heart of the writer at the conception stage and the writer himself should not interfere with this process. Then, what role the publisher? Very pertinent subject, effectively rendered. The sarcasm makes it wonderful.
am having difficulty in getting computer to post my remarks. But thank you for the xympathy
I REALLY ENJOYED THE POEM.....IT WAS SO NICE........
I understand. Editing per publisher request is like killing your baby.
No one knows what's on your mind And perhaps even yourself :) Interesting piece " Oh, the horror....." with 5 dots if counted
