I recollect Munshi Prem Chandra's short story, Shatranj Ke Khiladi (The chess Players) , they were playing chess in the First War of Independence,1857; when British Army was marching in Lucknow. They saw it and ignored it. Then a fight arose between them, they took their swords out and killed each other. They did not lack courage to fight. But they didn't fight the Britishers, why? The rulers were corrupt.

Leaders and politicians, unfortunately, are more often than not corrupt and rarely represent the interests of the common citizens. A well written poem. Thanks for sharing this sir.
thanks sorry for the belated comments reviewing my works only
There is no compatibility between success and ability and you are very right. This poem is very sensitive and thought provoking also. Power should be utilized for benefit of people and society. Greed should be broken and removed from mind. An amazing poem is shared here...10
