I think to know yourself is the hardest thing. I can approach knowledge of self from thoughts and acts, but I can't acquire a whole complete picture in that way. Maybe some can, but I can't. So I am continually surprised looking in retrospect at my actions and words. For me, I need to live a long time to gain a fuller understanding, but of course more time is guaranteed to no one.
