What Is It About You? Poem by Sharon Namwalizi

What Is It About You?

Rating: 5.0

There's something in the way you look at me,
A softness in your smile when you speak.
Everything about you is mesmerizing,
I catch myself staring—
So I put on a serious face,
Hoping you won't see the wonder in my eyes.
And maybe I'll stay undiscovered.

How did I get so blessed?
Whatever we become, I still find it exciting.
There's a warmth you bring—
I can't seem to resist.
Bells ring when I see you,
And the bitter turns sweet,
As everything else fades away.
We lose ourselves, and for a moment,
It's just us.
