What Is A Worthwhile Life? Poem by Terence George Craddock

What Is A Worthwhile Life?

Rating: 5.0

perhaps time fate is a hunter
perhaps if we live long enough
we will one day be in the wrong

place at the wrong time perhaps
this is inevitable unless a few
exceptional people exist who break

this rule can live an entire life
bliss bliss bliss nothing ever wrong
passing in old age sleep never ill

but evidence is against this
old age seems to impact
body age illnesses if we live

long enough to approach
our time sealed use by date
death awaits us all any exceptions...

perhaps a question or two arises
what is a worthwhile life how
do we live it without compromise

it seems true everyone will go through
some hard times at some point in life
if we live long enough there will be loss

pets friends parents children can die
we all must live age die no exceptions
life can be fun easy sometimes life

isn't sometimes life isn't easy

some are caring nurturing people
devoted helpers supporters people
makers others may be people breakers...

recognized people medical professionals
could be said to deal in suffering pain
pay a cost reward successive failure loss

are the strongest the most sensitive?
or the most trained in techniques
experiences resources to aid assist?

sometimes in mainstream life people
who exhibit the most kindness are the first
to get mistreated wearing hearts on sleeves

sympathy vampires might pray upon kindness?

people who take care of others all the time
are medically trained or gifted hands voices
in their present blessed receiving communities...

even rocks can break perhaps
a time will come when even exceptional
care givers will need help the most?

stubborn pride people can be difficult
to deal with what events selfish or inflicted
caused such clams to live in hardened shells?

apparently there are people
who cannot say 'I was wrong'
apparently there are people

who have difficulty
saying 'I love you'
'help me' or 'I'm sorry'

an ability to interact
say I love you enriches
life bonds experiences...

an ability to ask for help
will increase chances
of receiving help

the right kind of help

an ability to say I'm sorry
immediately at the right
time right place can heal

anger hurtful character mistakes

a person looks happy
some are radiant with joy
within love within...

looking past smiles
some hide disguise
pain hurt within

there will be friends
people going through issues
some perhaps right now

how we react
is an intention
avalanche

put into effect
sustained maintained
over time depth

caring loving nurturing...

positive intentions
positive people nurturing
can change lives

there is a beauty glowing
manifest in exceptional
loving giving people makers

some carry wear scars
obvious or indelible scars
etched into body soul

there are people with problems
health financial family problems
there are people with struggles

job issues debt issues hunger issues
free range food is price inflated foods
some people are at breaking points...

do not expect governments to solve problems
do not expect health workers to solve problems
do not expect pie in sky dreams to solve problems

problems are best solved when small
problems solved before problems grow
problems solved with a little love time

a little love time given at the right place
a little love time given at the right time
by real deal people makers who care

people makers live a life worthwhile

money assets wealth seldom helps lonely desperate people
friends family neighbours can help lonely desperate people
just knowing someone cares helps lonely desperate people...

who is immune to love care at the right place time?
