What If Poem by Frederick Nellist

What If

If my face was my fortune
would I count the cost

If I could reap what I sowed
would I have won or lost

If I could see into the future
would my eyes shed tears

If my true love caressed me
Would that ban my fears

If I could earn forgiveness
Would I have peace of mind

If I were sharing life's path
Would you follow the blind

If the word if is not a dream
What then does the word if mean.
