Alf, I also see the greed that rules our world, but unlike you I have no faith in prophets of doom. I am not an Atheist, I believe that the life force or spirit in us is shared by all of us. We need to learn how to love each other, to share, we do not need the punishment of a God. We just need to know the hurt we cause to humankind. We have been punishing people who go wrong for years, yet we still have to continue to punish. A well written poem, you are a great poet. regards Bob
I agree! Man has turned from God- the world now is either foolishly atheistic, or ignorantly worshipping false gods like Buddah. Very well put, and full of truth.
Alf, As I began to read this I immediately said to myself 'But we Do' and there you go saying so at the end. I agree myfriend. nice write well said. Susan I saw that you had several other NEW writes, I will try to get to those in the next few days Alf, I always enjoy your work. Susan

This world is disintergrating vey fast now, so much cruelty, crime and disease of the body and mind. Where has all the goodness gone, the gentleness, the seeing of beauty without the want and greed of having to have it all. A very well penned poem Alf, you couldn't have said it better. Great write and well worth the read, makes the mind react and stimulates our thought to higher things. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
Hello Alf Another one of your classic poems here your gift of rhythm and rhyme is truly amazing 'What If' is well worthy of a 10, you do look at the more positive side of Humanity again well done. F Duggan
Man is unfortunately hanging himself and all get drawn in - greed and hate replace giving and love but how to stop this downward trend other than by divine intervention - if only your poem can be written across the sky
What if God did not exist - would the atheists live in bliss? Regardless if one is a believer or not - this is a very poignant poem & a wonderful, thoughtful way to start the day. Thank you Alf. 10/10 : -)
I admire so much the way this poem is so easy to read, and also has brilliant images that leads the reader straight down to the bottom, without being bored one little bit. Its message is there and the world is in a state of confusion. Loved it! 10 Karin Anderson
Thanks Alf, this is a brilliantly written thought provoking piece in true Alf-style...Undoubtedly a 10
