Feelings are what make us human. The poem can be interpreted in more ways than one. A loss remains a loss. It is how it affects us emotionally, is what matters. I am sad for Jane.Kenyon.

What Came To Me I took the last dusty piece of china out of the barrel. It was your gravy boat, with a hard, brown drop of gravy still on the porcelain lip. I grieved for you then as I never had before. - ITALIAN: Che cosa mi è venuto Ho tolto l'ultimo polveroso pezzo di porcellana dalla cassa. Era la tua salsiera, con una goccia, marrone e indurita, di sugo ancora sul beccuccio. Mi sono sentita afflitta per te, al vederla, come mai prima.
