What About Me? (A Failed Sonnet) Poem by Hippo Bass

What About Me? (A Failed Sonnet)

everyone's railing and demanding
i am relevant you too but primarily me
attention and respect compete
i rather receive than hand out

anyway i taunt more than applaud
of course justified and fully deserved
don't understand my anonymity
ranting and screaming and sulking

hollow shell echoes of bafflement and disbelief
can't anyone see me and my talents
why interested in others
self-realization is all

how foolish to take your centrality for granted
with horizon limited to yourself
