What A Trade-Off Poem by Gary James Smith

What A Trade-Off

Rating: 5.0

What A Trade-off

What a trade-off...my filthy rags
For God's righteousness
Cleansed by the Word sealed by the Spirit
Don't settle for anything less
Now with an everlasting hope
I'll praise the name of that One
My tribune God expressed in three Persons
The Father...the Spirit...the Son

He who willingly took my sin
And made its debt owed paramount
Brought deliverance through His blood
That was shed at Calvary's fount
And love poured out at Calvary
Has a Hand of kindness still
Come taste and see that the Lord is good
Come repent and know God's will

Hallelujah there is no other name
Praise God for Jesus Christ
Love personified in a person
Who paid sins ransom price
And up from the grave He arose
To put to death old death
And give to mankind as a gift
The hope of eternal breath

Now I live because He lives
My life and Resurrection
The only One whoever came
And lived life to perfection
What amazing grace is this
My God how great Thou art
You took a sinner such as I
And changed my wicked heart

What a trade-off... hallelujah!
Sin has met its match
And cords of love now bind me to Him
From sin I'm being detached
For I have a new found Saviour
Who cares for me so much
That He will bring me to His presence
Where sin no longer can touch!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
