What A Marvellous Work

What a marvellous work of the Spirit of God
To bring a lost soul to Christ
To makea heart once bent on sin
To realize our Lord's sacrifice
And bring the truth to the light it is
And the proof of our condemnation
And then to offer up a blessed hope
In the wonder of a so great Salvation

The Spirit appointed by our God
To be searching every day
Ever alertful to those hearts
Who've decided to change their ways
Then to bring the means whereby
To facilitate with saving grace
Every sinner who truly repents
And who seeks the Master's face

Then the consummation of our faith
Affirmed by peace and joy
The genuine forgiveness for our sin
A life with God to enjoy
A transformation in our soul
Darkness has turned into light
And the abiding presence of the Spirit of God
We know that all is right!

O blessed Spirit I give you thanks
For your part in my Salvation
The role you played in leading me to
The realization of my condemnation
And then taking the Word of God
And making it all so plain
So that I could repent and believe
And know the joy of being "born again"!
