This is such a diverse,
And talented gathering.
With people enjoying,
The acceptance to be themselves.
"What a black thing to say."
I enjoy the juice drink prepared.
But I prefer mine with more lemon.
How about you?
"What a black thing to say."
I also would rather live my life.
The way I like.
Unobstructed by oppressive mentalities.
How about you?
"What a black thing to say."
You and I are both black.
And Americans at that.
A fact to witness and observe.
Although we have differing opinions.
About how we succeed.
And who prevents us both,
From qualifying to obtain opportunities.
How about you?
What is it that you feel?
Or believe about that?
"What a black thing to ask.
Or even say to me.
I am neither a politician.
Nor seeking popularity.
Yet there is something about you,
That makes me feel even better...
About who it is I am."
I see.
So you are here with the rest of us,
To discuss and promote what?
"Self satisfaction.
And my ability to be an opportunist.
With the using the color of my skin to do it."
What a black thing to say.
"I know.
And believe it or not,
It is the people who don't expect it...
I have discovered are the ones,
Who respect me more for my honesty."
Thank you.
I had not thought about that.
What a black thing to say.
To make the doing of it,
Unexpectedly appropriate.
And appreciated too!
"I teach.
From lessons taught to learn."
Use it.
Or lose it!
"Exactly.
And that's the black thing to say!
Especially in these days and times we live."
