We've journeyed too far to leave our tales untold,
Atop the Jos mountains, where secrets of love unfold.
There are moments when thoughts elude our grasp,
Not all tales are woven from marble, a truth that shall clasp.
One day, she'll sit, recalling a friend lost to the veil of time,
I retreated into shadows, vanishing in your mind's rhyme.
My scholarly journeys, a shelter, a haven I found,
Preserving memories for a future, on hallowed ground.
One day, I'll resurface in the words of your kin,
Our friendship tested, torn by deceit from within.
In the trenches, I was not alone, yet true to you I remained,
A life of goodness, love, and untold bliss, never stained.
I may not have been there when you needed me the most,
Nor you for me, our connection not without its cost.
But I remained genuine, sparing your heart's pain,
The bonds we forged persist, in the shadows and the rain.
The memories we created, forever etched within our soul's abode.
