I only wanted one hen,
so I killed one, but then
the rest started to attack,
and to get them off my back,
I had to destroy the whole pen!

2. The reason for the weasel killing the entire hen cited in the poem is not correct, because the hen cower when they find it near their pen and start croaking in fear. They never attack.
Have YOU made a habit of staying up all day and all night in EVERY hen house on this earth in order to record your observations? ? ?
In the Western world, hens do not croak. They cluck. Frogs croak.
Lovely lovely poem. Enjoyed. Reading the poem (loved it, so I read it thrice) , I am pretty sure that Bri's contribution to it is minimal, if any. 😀
The reason they do it, might be simpler than your poem suggest. Like some politicians, they do it because they can get away with it. Nobody stops them.

I believe this is a good stab at making a limerick & maybe it IS. I may not be correct, BUT 'Merriam-Webster', online dictionary gives 'killed' one syllable, not 2. (cont.)
