Sir, I can just quote one line, '... to define our rights and duties as citizens'....I can't say much! An insightful little piece...top score.
Indian constitution is partly flexible and party rigid. The concept of democracy can't always be perfectly realised....a thoughtful write.
Great words. My Poem 'Water, Water' was the poem of the day 19 April
To exercise this right and duty will help shape a wonderful country. A profound poem well conveyed. To my Poem List.
Right of Suffrage is one of the fundamental rights of the people.
We are responsible people and we can resolve and understand our rights. You have deeply observed election and people's performance in choosing leaders. This is very brilliantly and amazingly penned.10
Thank you Rajnish ji for this wonderful poem. It has kindled in me a strong desire to be a part of the progressive India. Let us together contribute to its growth and improvement to the best of our ability........100
Thank you so much, Geeta ji, for your kind visit and for a very positive feedback on the subject. Yes, we are proud of our heritage, history and our unity in diversity. With the combined strength of 1300 million people, India is well on the course of greater achievements. We have problems and challenges before us but we also have the will to resolve them. Thank you once again for such a nice review of the poem.
Though India has made tremendous progress in education and gender equality, yet, there are various other things that needs to be rectified and improved upon. That's where " We the people" is collectively responsible. Each citizen of India should shoulder the responsibility of improving their country to get rid of evil in the society.
A country like India, the largest democratic country of the world, gives the right to every citizen to choose and vote for their leaders. In spite of huge population, India is progressing at rapid rate in various sectors. The advancement in technology is tremendous and the level of education too, very high. Kerala is a state with 100% literacy...
Rajnish ji, this is a powerful poem that hails democracy as the most significant happening of free India. Democracy fully believes in the freedom of the people, by the people and for the people. A country like India thrives in spite of its varied languages and culture. There is unity in spite of diversity.
Despite your beautiful poem about India and its Democracy system, the World Statistics about India has not improved, Rajnish Sir. India is still a very dangerous country for the ordinary women. Men do not experience that. Such tragedy for such an excellent government. This issue and the air pollution. I oft say what I think, dear Sir, am so sorry, but your poem is fascinatingly correct. Thank you so much for sharing.10 and myriad 10's more
I love my country but it does not restrict me in any way to look at our ills. I invite you to please have a look at the following poems: - More Indians than most Indians / Killers have no license to kill but / Dead writer comes to life / Full freedom v/s Bull freedom / Gujrat election scene / God's Protectees / Tears / Pillars of Democracy / Hooch is the killer / Dear Bajrang Dal etc. There are some Hindi poems too but why should I bother an enlightened soul with such trash.
An excellent poem of India and its Government. I do hope the system they handle is the same as your poem. Poets are honest, rulers of Governments never do what they promised. They only make the people who chose them, disappointed. Once the rulers are elected, they never do what they promised. As I stated, your poem about India is magnificent. The world statistics about India must be improved. The map added is fantastic Rajnish Sir.
Ma'am Sylvia, you have done a wonderful job through this in-depth review of the poem. What I have mentioned in the poem presents one side of the picture which deals with our constitutional rights and responsibilities as a citizen. But what you have stated completes the entire picture. Our leaders and rulers have their own axe to grind and also their vested interests which, in due course, take precedence over their avowed line of action for furtherance of public weal and welfare.
A concise definition of democracy in your country. Ultimate power resides in the people not the elected rulers. Power to the people in India.
Thanks for your considered views on the political and democratic system in India and for good wishes.
Well penned about the democratic governmental system and value of India. Thanks for sharing!
I'm grateful to you for your kind words of appreciation. Thanks indeed.
