We Loved Too Late Poem by Asim Baadshah

We Loved Too Late

Our hearts were right, but time was wrong,
We danced alone to love's sweet song.
The clock betrayed what fate designed,
We left too much of us behind.

We smiled beneath a sky of gray,
And kissed the words we couldn't say.
The world moved on, but we were still,
Two aching souls with shattered will.

You loved in silence, so did I,
Our love grew wings but couldn't fly.
Too proud to fall, too scared to stay,
We watched forever drift away.

Now strangers meet with gentle eyes,
And hide the storms that never die.
You were the right, but not the when -
We loved too late, and not again
