We Lay Together Poem by Paul Larmour

We Lay Together

We lay together
Our hearts in rhyme
I was yours, you were mine
All the planets were in line
All the stars flashed the sign
That this was surely the time
True love sparked into being
That this was the purest we were seeing
Aphrodite knelt and weeped
She cried a lake around her feet
On seeing true love so sweet
Hoping she would sometime meet
That special someone to make her life complete
