WE HAD THEM

Friends who slept in our hearts,
Laughed with us aimlessly,
Fed our children generously,
The non-blood siblings brigade
But the world has alienated them
Their future knows not of the past
I hear cross generational civilisation.

We had them
In-laws who received us with gist
Sang us songs of triumph
Showed us all the inches of their teeth
And fed us on all dreamsory eats
But now we eat on their jilt
They smile hatred with out tilt
.
We had them
Brothers and sisters in blood clots
Our parents, a unified pillar
We all kissed that same bra
And we ate from the same potatoe pot
But Old age has drawn a thick line
We only meet at parties and burial ceremonies.

We had them
Children we breast fed
Those whom we sold our pride and souls to see them live
Our care and love knew only them and their dreams
But now we are motherless and fatherless,
We are just an obstacle to their quick inheritance
We are those ashaming figures not fit for their selefies
We are what they don't want to see in public.

We had them
Our husbands, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends and fiances
Those whose hearts we fetched from the God
Our eyes saw them from their footsteps
Our ears heard them from their thoughts
And our touches were the hope that heaven exists on earth
Our dreams were the life in the century yet to come
But now like wandering Jew, Commelina benghalensis!
We are veterans of that romantic world war
We are selfish, judgemental and hurtless introverts
Declaring that true love only existed with Jesus
And that all people are the same
.
We had them, we really had them
We had you, you were part of that that world
That paradise which shone the stars on earth
So when you see us depressed, childless, loveless, careless and hopeless
Just know we had them
When you find us in the disgraced after world
Just know we were once in that rosey shinning planet
And fate brought us home.
