'We Can't All Be Hero' Poem by Ndianabasi David

'We Can't All Be Hero'

Rating: 5.0

We live a life of challenge,
But the victors are the able bodied men,
They get to stand on the curb and clap,
As the victim falls by...

Who will redeem my noble friends?
When the lions will call on the lamp,
Upon a duel for freedom,
Upon a duel for leadership...

Only the legends will answer,
To the call for a wooden sword,
While awaiting the ship captain,
We sailors should be hopeful...

As the day goes by,
So will the tyrants,
As the crown of power sounds for the initiate,
For we can't all be hero.
