We Are Just Passing Through: (Sonnet) Poem by DM W

We Are Just Passing Through: (Sonnet)

We are just passing through this dream called life:
This brief kingdom of love and light between
Dark eternities. Although there is strife
And sorrow, this time is precious indeed.
Some don't realise, until it's too late.
They waste blazing moments by dwelling on
Insignificant things. They wait and wait
For tomorrows that never come. They long
For ideal circumstance and worlds that do
Not exist, and alas never will. So
Better if we begin each day anew
And make the most of our time here, and grow,
Like flowers under the sun. For it must said.
That we've only one chance. We're a long time dead.
