I believe most poets wold agree we should not wait for heaven to come and get us, but actively to create a heaven on earth, composed not of wealth and power, but of desire and love. I especially like the special arithmatic of the heart in these lines: WE ARE ONE. IT IS NOT ONE PLUS ONE./WE ARE BOTH IN A SINGLE SOUL. That shows a type of love which transcends ordinary calculations. It's a risk to love so unconditionally, but it's a shame not to make such an effort. I am totally in sympathy with your poem, and responds to it whole-heartedly. But do not be discouraged if someone with a cynical mind-set rejects it. That would just prove my point: this is a poem for sympathetic souls.
