Waves Against A Lighthouse Poem by soren Barrett

Waves Against A Lighthouse

Passion a wave, surges with crests and troughs, always pulsing throbbing
Tides that raise and fall driven by moon, winds, pushes and ebbs, never constant
Always present, in violent storms it destroys, its destruction leaves sobbing
Changing colors of the sea, the liquid heart of you and me

Love, not sun or moon nor guiding star but what we are, always present
The lighthouse inside, a guiding beam through storms on a perilous sea
Though breakers batter, beat the shore, built on solid rock, secure, quiescent
Will guide you home, safe and sure to what you adore, whatever you be
