Water Poem by Suzette Richards

Water

a mirror lies cRaCkEd in the sand—
folding sky into w a t e r
water into s k y
the offing n e b u l o u s as HOPE

a melancholy stains t.u.r.b.u.l.e.n.t w a t e r s
washing up on the shores of Life

icy waves reaching
the tenuous sandcastles
I had built in the sky—
an undercurrent
dragging my dreams out to sea …

fading with time—
riPPled dreams
like riLLs on the breach

HOPE threads through
fire rainbows of my mind
as t.u.r.b.u.l.e.n.t tides d i s s o l v e

the ammil in my heart
—thawing—
trickling beyond the breach …

Water
