Watching The Wait

Rating: 4.3

How can I watch the wait
while waiting for my watch
when I have no watch to watch
and cannot see the clock?

They told me the wait
would be twenty minutes.
Just guessing then...
it seems like ten so far.

At least I'm sitting down
in a semi-comfy chair.

Three different clocks
have struck five now.
Which one was right?
I don't see how
a place that fixes clocks
can't have them all the same.

At last! The watch is done.
Now it's too late
to watch the wait.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this a week or two ago while waiting for a little shop in Recife to install a new battery in my watch.
Now that I'm not watching the wait anymore, I guess I should start watching my weight.

In the picture is the very watch from the poem. I bought it here in Brazil after my other watch was broken. I'll bet your watch is not one with a palindromic name like mine. In case you can't read it on the picture, the brand name is Oso.

How is the weight watching coming? ? Do you need a larger mirror? A catchy poem. Bri :)

This poem made me smile only a true poet would find a poem in a wait for replacing of a watch battery. Well done
