Wasting Away The Days Poem by T.L. Toadvine

Wasting Away The Days

Not many pictures exist
Of the best of me
As one day struggled into the next
Hot summer days
Cold winter nights
Near empty gas tanks
And my last Marlboro Light
Sweet moonlight & crickets
Sing me off to sleep
In my old Pontiac
Pray the lord my soul to keep
Wondering where in the world
Can she be
Wondering if she wonders
About me
