Was It
was it a day or a year ago I smiled?
I don't remember
was the sun shining at the time?
funny I thought the lights went out
ah so was it yesterday I cried
or have I cried these last twenty years?
strange the night came but it was still light.
was it today I smiled
funny that the rain came down
gutter and spout.
