Rating: 4.8

It's time I stood and spoke of war,
A candid speech display.
To tell you things you used to know;
Forgotten, on the way.

Truth form afar.... Proof humanity knows war is criminal at every level. It's like the argument by Americans that slavery was ok at that point in US history. Used to justify idolizing the Founding Fathers as morally superior despite their evil reliance on a crime. Truth penetrates myths...

War is more than an expression on pen and paper - it is so much more...

excellent piece, at first intimidated by the size of this poem, but surely enough, it flew by so suddenly. i agree that war is the true crime, and those who choose the fight are damned as soon as their bullet tastes blood all the best -ROCCO

I like your style...a hybrid between classical and modern poetry. Comfortable, yet non-conforming. Good work! -Michael

Agree your sentiments about War but if you are saying that it absolves individuals of responsibility for their actions (which I'm sure you can't be saying!) , I disagree. Very well written. Fx

It's war itself, that is the crime; That dooms mens souls to Hell. The laughs you hear, they come from me; It's war, that needs a cell. -------- Great.. The ease in which you transfer your message.. the rhythm.. I guess I need to study the structure you used here.. but I can never match it.. Again, Great work..10/10 (Specially that I agree with the message it carries)

What a great poem, the first one I have read of yours, I am so looking forward to reading more. Quite moving piece - how can war be a solving force when it distroys so much, both seen and unseen? ......... x

Wars are no doubt destructive and many a times Man is forced to face it… Your stanzas closely watch and preach the intents of war…. man digs his own grave by calling forth the war but sometimes when all measures fail this crime takes birth… War whether to save your honor or to exhibit your power? War as a crusade against evil or an evil’s game of recreation….. A puzzle which your poem seeks to venture…. Well composed Abha

I will comment on the above piece because you asked.As an example of poetic construct, ecellent.As a work of English alas I haven't the familiarity.education, or experience to be of any value in this venue.As a commentary on war and military, (an arena with which I am all to familiar) , I would not care to make any definitive comments which could be politically slanted, as I am a most grateful guest.I have given my general opinions on my site.These will have to suffice. Thank You Respectfully Ngaio Beck

You hit the target... I can't help but agree... You'd think that after all these wars people would have learned their lesson... But i guess not...since wars are still much favored by the rulers of this world... Wonderful piece... Dmitriy K.

People may think me odd...but I completely agree with you on this one Wolfey. While it saddens me to think that this is so...I know it to be reality. War is but one of the ways that our master keeps population under control. Many of our soldiers agonize with guilt, over things that they may have done in the name of war. But...a job...is just a job. Perhaps this is just you and I rationalizing...but I tend to think it's more than that. Thanks for writing this one Wolfey...it provokes a lot of thought. Hugs, Dee

While I disagree with the premise, I also fought next to men who died to protect this poem.
