Wanderlust Poem by Harun Al Nasif

Wanderlust

I embark on a quest to explore the world,
Endowed with a terrestrial body's majesty,
And a pair of sight-blinded eyes, shrouded in pockets.
Time and again, I'm profoundly torn asunder
By the sharp spear of inquiry,
And bloodied with the barbed wire of unknown
Spread on the frontier of knowledge.

Innumerable caves in the depths of the cavity,
Craft a captivating image of the world,
Leading some to portray the wanderer as an idolater.
Yet, the colored lenses of retinas
Bathed in the warmth of faith
Within the enchanting cradle of compassion,
Cherish an ardent longing to transform into eyes.

The picturesque audiferous music plays on,
Ceaselessly and tirelessly,
Indifferent to its orchestration within the ears.
With the indivisible pendulum,
Swings the uniform 'Tao' of Space-Time.
The unique illusion of duality blurs the line
Between the will-o'-the-wisp of antitruth,
And light of truth in the crypto-womb of full void.

Taking sacred wanderlust as self-motivated
The contended pilgrim depicts the definition
Of mobility on the status quo!
Sitting behind the wandering sight
On the visible surface of the scenic vista,
The desire of bathing in the sea of mercy
Floats in the inner sky of the wanderer.
